Cosmos was founded by Michael Campbell, a former Chief Information Officer in asset management. Cosmos delivers value in engagements through the strength of its experienced team, all highly talented Financial Technologists with a track record of success.

Michael Cosmos Campbell is an award winning computer scientist and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in Asset Management Technology. Prior to founding Cosmos Technology, Michael has held a number of leadership positions in top tier Asset Managers, including Chief Information Officer at one of the world’s largest with over 700 Billion in assets under management. From 2002 to 2014, Michael was Group Manager of Front Office systems at Western Asset Management in California. Prior to Western, Michael was the CTO and co-founder of Apogean Technology, the first electronic exchange for the trading of emerging market debt. Michael earned an MBA in Finance, with distinction as a Stern Scholar, from New York University, Stern School of Business while working at ING Barings as Head of Application Delivery for Fixed Income. Michael has also advised and held board positions in early stage startups including Area Daily and Meera.ai
Michael completed two bachelor’s degrees (Computer Science & Applied Math, Electrical Engineering) in four years from the University of Rhode Island, which he attended on academic scholarship. The youngest of over 2000 graduates in 1992, Michael ran at age 20 for political office as a candidate for Lt. Governor of the State of Rhode Island and achieved 10.6% of the electorate (41,000+ votes), more than any other Independent candidate in the history of Rhode Island for state-wide office.
